Received disturbing call from our vendor today - Delivery driver MIA and they can’t get the goods to me. Six hours of driving if I had to pick it up due to bridge location and I leave for China tomorrow. Impossible. Must get the attire to take to Selene Shipyard for Honorable Howard and Awesome Arina. Mission Impossible? Never!!!
PLAN B (There should always be one) - Used Uber app to have driver pick up package in Maryland and drive it south to SMCM (where Summer Rendezvous will be July 17). I launched our support vessel for Shangri-La, center console Wasabi, into the Potomac River, crossed to the St. Mary’s River and skipped north to Horseshoe Bend and SMCM docks. The driver and I arrived simultaneously and he handed the booty over, but not before taking a couple pics for me. Felt like I was holding The Stanley Cup over my head. Victory, at last!
Home to Virginia and broke open the treasure chest! OMG! Better than I had hoped. All those sketches and drafts and brainstorming sessions with my brothers and sisters came together to produce, well, you tell me what you think. Standing by.
