2009 Selene 55 – Turnkey Bluewater Cruiser | Exten...
Hey Greg -

Great to hear from you! I hope you and Farah are well.

It sounds like your timing is about perfect If you can leave a day early. You have 60 NM to travel from Norfolk to Horseshoe Bend on the Saint Mary's River and the Chesapeake Orchestra concert on the Green at SMCM begins at 7:00 PM on Friday July 17. If you leave by 8:00 AM you will be anchor down by 3:30 and ready for cocktails by 5:00. You know the drill after that as you have done it. The weekend will follow last year's schedule.

I sure hope that you folks can come again. We miss you both!

Best - Jack

Morning Jack,

When is the rendezvous in July? We are in Norfolk until the 18th

Dear Greg and Farah -

We are sorry to hear that you guys are selling Summer Dreams, but wish you the best for the future. You are welcome to join Terry and me on our new Selene 6047 Shangri-La when the dust settles for all of us. We will cruise far and wide as usual. In the meantime, if you are traveling north and pass through the Chesapeake Bay, please stop by and see us for a few days. You know where we live; Olverson’s Marina has a slip waiting for you (mine); and as you know that is only a 10 minute CC ride from the dock at our Rivah home.

Don’t forget we have the Summer Rendezvous on the Saint Mary’s and Yeocomico Rivers coming up in July. Please come again if you can.

Good luck on the upcoming boat sale. Someone will be getting a great yacht. Keep the price high. Don’t forget that I sold 5388 for more than any pre-owned Selene 53/54 ever sold for last year - hope you break that record. Call me if you want to talk about a sales strategy (mine worked).

Best regards - Jack and Terry

Jack Burgess, Shangri-La 6047

Where is it Greg?

Hi Everyone,

It comes with a heavy heart that we are offering our 2009 Selene 55 for sale due to personal and family commitments.

Over the past three years, we have methodically prepared her for a transatlantic crossing, investing significant time, effort, and resources into upgrades, system improvements, and essential maintenance. This is not a lightly used vessel—it is a thoughtfully upgraded, well-maintained, and truly capable long-range cruiser.

She has been outfitted with reliability and independence in mind, with major attention given to mechanical systems, electrical capacity, navigation, and onboard comfort. The goal was simple: a vessel ready to go anywhere, safely and confidently.

Whether you’re planning offshore passages, extended cruising, or simply want a proven, turn-key Selene that stands apart from the rest, this vessel deserves your attention.

Extensive recent upgrades

Fully serviced and maintained systems

Offshore-ready configuration

Equipped for long-range cruising

We know what we have and more importantly, we know what it takes to get a boat to this level. She is ready for her next owner to step aboard and go. Additional details, full specifications, and a comprehensive upgrade list to follow shortly.

Photos available upon request (full package coming soon).
