Selene 62's
One of the biggest changes Howard made to some of the models was the “Deep Hull” design that carried the hull further aft, and resulted in much more headroom in the lazarette areas, and in the larger boats, a transom entry. Our 2006 62 had a mostly cantilever swimstep, whereas on later ones I believe, the hull carried all the way to the end of the swimstep. Would have made a big difference for a tall person in moving around the crew quarters.

We just received delivery of our Selene Ocean Explorer 62 (now called a 64) last week. I'm not sure what specifics you are asking for since I don't have any knowledge of earlier models. Our boat has twin John Deeres but a single configuration is offered. I know Selene Americas is trying to standardize on many of the components to simplify and streamline service and parts in the future so I'm not sure if other engines are offered (although I could be wrong). That would be a question for Selene Americas.

They now offer an Ocean Explorer model in addition to the Classic but other than exterior design everything else is the same (propulsion, electronics, equipment, etc.) We have a video on YouTube which features a walk through of our boat. That will give you a good idea of the general layout but every boat is customizable. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

You will need to confirm with Dylan and the Selene Americas team on specific details on this. We have a 2008 - 60 and from what we have observed we could get the same boat spec today as far as layout and design. The galley up/down is a choice that is and has been available for over 20 years. Same with power plant choices- John Deere, Cummins, singles, twins, etc have been available choices throughout the build life based on what O have seen in other 60s. As semi custom boats they are each unique in components and layout but there is a current effort to standardize component systems for ease of repair and replacement going forward.

Are there break points in the production of Selene 62 where significant changes were made to the configuration, or offered equipment was changed? For instance, was the galley up, or galley down always offered? Different power plants offered?

I'm just looking to better understand the evolution of this boat and what the later models offer over or differently than the earlier ones.

Thanks in advance!
